This week, I take a half hour to talk about poverty, farming, or lack thereof in the U.S. I also talk a little bit about why Americans are so angry. Something I plan to talk more about in the coming weeks. Just a hint, it's the economy stupid.
People are fed up with being lied to, to the politicians stealing our tax money to fund wars, and personal bank accounts and so much more.
I did offer one alternative to the republicans efforts to dismantle democracy. Give them their own country to do as they will. We all know how that would probably work. It wouldn't. They'd be so far in debt very quickly, they would never recover.
Much like the vacationers we observed while we were travelling. Living as if they didn't have a care in the world. Buying expensive toys at the expense of their families and chasing the dream.
I also have a warning for everyone. Climate warming is no joke anymore. It's been hovering around 100 degrees F nearly every afternoon so far this week, so if you still think global warming is a joke, I have news for you. Or better yet, if you're on the east coast of the U.S. or in western Europe right now, step outside and tell me that climate warming is fake news. I can't remember a time while I resided in the U.S. that mid-June temperatures went over 100 degrees. Yet, my outside thermometer is reading 102 this afternoon as I write this.
My other note is about the escalating war on free speech and the right of peaceful assembly to dissent government policies.
I tell everyone that I will fight government censorship, if I encounter any, and use my platforms to protest the government's policies of authoritarianism. It's time for a peaceful rebellion against the wealthy authoritarians who are trying to do away with democracy in the U.S.
Consider this week's podcast my first peaceful protest against Trump's trade policies, his war on peaceful immigrants, and his stupid foreign policies regarding the middle east. If the U.S. government takes issue with this, let them come talk to me and we go from there. I hope I never hear from them. That would be the best option.
I have said this before and I repeat myself today. Israel is committing ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank with the U.S. and western Europe supporting that.
Meanwhile, more and more Americans are going hungry and homeless everyday. We're just starting to see the results of the disastrous trade war in stores now. We all know it's going to get worse within the next few months.
Between draconian ICE roundups and jobs disappearing everywhere, Americans are in for a rough winter ahead.
The poverty I saw across the country is only going to get much worse as the jobs continue to disappear. Economists are staying away from the R word when they talk in public but a recession is coming.
Check out the podcast as I offer a lot more details than I write about in this blog today.
To wrap things up, I read another chapter from The Priest, by Michael Campi. That dystopian fiction he has been writing for a few months.
Stay safe and cool everyone. I think this hot weather is going to become a fixture in our future summers now. Enjoy your air conditioner while we still have electricity. Sláinte
