I decided I don't need to add a link to the podcast page anymore as anyone who reads my thoughts here will know how to navigate to the web page. If not, just ask but it's really simple.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., this week's podcast was all the divide between the red and blues states again, with a map, to include parts of Canada this time.

This is what my last two episodes are all about, this map that I created in Canva. As you can see, there is a serious political and cultural divide in north America and it can easily be solved with economics, or made worse by the lack thereof.
There is talk of secession, in both the U.S. and Canada over the bad policies of American and Canadian policies, or the perception thereof. In the U.S. we have Donald Trump. Do I need to say more?
Right now, the United States is in crisis mode with Trump wanting to use national guard and his ICE gestapo agents as his personal Army.
On top of that, he's crashing the economy, badly.
We went grocery shopping this week and the price of chicken has doubled in the last few months, and the prices of nearly everything else are starting to rise significantly, something I have been warning everyone that this was coming when the tariffs were levied a few months ago. Right on time as my initial prediction of seeing this come the fall was right on target.
Meanwhile, Trump is starting a war with Venezuela. So much for him being a peace president. Like everything else he has said, he's lying once again.
The courts and the citizens of the U.S. are starting to come around to the idea that Trump is not going to keep any of his promises and they're starting to get mad. As in a large portion of the population is starting to wake up and smell the coffee.
I think Trump is finished. He will fight to the end but his time in the white house will be shortened as the democrats will most likely win the midterms by a large margin, unless the MAGA republicans cheat and turn the country into a one party system. Which they are trying to do. They want that map I shared above to be all red, rather than blue and purple.
I'm more worried about the possibility of national guard troops firing on one another or homegrown militias cropping up to also take up arms against their neighbouring states. Once the shooting starts, it will be hard to stop. Which will give Trump an excuse to invoke the insurrection clause and declare martial law, suspending elections until things calm down. Which we know won't happen while Trump is president.
On my Substack page, which I also copied over to Medium.com, I have it all written out with relevant news and articles from noted news media and accomplished writers. I will post the YouTube video at the bottom of this blog page in case anyone wants to watch the video.
In this week's video, I went off script to talk about my interaction with a local republican state delegate, what other states call state representatives and senators. No commercial this week as I describe what happened when this young man came to my door to introduce himself and ask me what my concerns were. Which I told him at some length. I don't think he was expecting me to be so outspoken and it caught him by surprise.
I think he decided that I was a bit too radical and dismissed me as soon as he left. That's okay. If he truly wanted to find out what I think, he can listen or watch a podcast.
On the home front, I started my basic digital photography class last week. The teacher is a little flaky and I think she struggles with the subject matter a bit, but I think I can still learn something from the class. I have endured worse.
We're heading into fall weather as the nights are getting cooler. A little earlier than I remember in the five years I've lived here but you can't fight the weather, only adapt. In the last week, I've gone from shorts to long pants and talking about the new fireplace. That's a sign of things to come.
I'll be back next week with more. Next week's podcast is going to be about the U.S. health system or lack thereof with RFK Jr. gutting everyone and everything, and Florida taking the extraordinary stance to leave vaccinations against diseases up to the parents. Which is a recipe for serious disaster. Is anyone ready for the next plague coming to a town near you?
