To start, here is the link to The Village Oak Tree podcast page here in this website where readers can jump to my substack page to watch the video and read the whole narrative of this week's podcast. Or, if you just want to listen, I have an audio podcast option on the same page without leaving this website.

Now, to summarise this week's podcast for readers. I start off with how Trump is tearing apart the U.S. economy and taking the Europeans with him. I found a news article that talks about how bad the German economy is getting after two years of recession. And they want to sacrifice their robust social services to increase their defence spending to five percent out of fear of Trump. Where are they going to get the money? From the German people and borrowing, which is bad for everyone.

My next news article is about how this bill making its way through the federal government is going to put a lot more people in poverty, seniors on the street, do away with subsidised meals for poor kids and a whole lot of other bad things for the American people over the next ten years. I don't think the United States has that long to live to be honest. Given how quickly Trump is bringing the country to wrack and ruin, the economy is headed for a recession and I doubt it will survive in its current state.

I also found an article about how the American immigration police, ICE, went to a house in a Los Angeles suburb and used explosives to breach the house in order to arrest a man for accidentally running into an ICE van. I then go into a lengthy talk about the Army National Guard training, or lack thereof, and my personal experiences when I was a member of the 278th Armoured Cavalry, Tennessee Army National Guard. Which was not a good experience for me coming from active duty. For more on that, watch or listen to the video, or read the full monologue on my substack page.

I complete the podcast with commentary about what ICE agents might encounter if they try to arrest a combat veteran without identifying themselves, how ICE is now arresting people for interfering with their Gestapo like arrests and the lack of due process. Detainees for obstruction just might find themselves in a third world country with no due process if ICE has their way after the supreme court ruled that they can do that with another 6 to 3 vote.

The U.S. is an authoritarian government for all intents and purposes now, and people are starting to take notice and fight back a little. Once the recession hits in a few months, this fight might expand dramatically.

Between the mass detentions of immigrants, taking them away from the big farms and construction sites, the economy is already slowing, despite what Trump's administration is saying in the news media. The tariffs are starting to take a hold and prices are slowly going up, with some items in the stores are no longer available and so on.

If Americans ever wondered what it's like to live in under an authoritarian government, they need look no further. Americans can watch in real time now as their institutions are being taken away more and more every month. All to pay for the massive tax break extension Trump wants in October, and to pay for more military defence and ICE detentions. Such as the new concentration camp in the Florida Everglades. You can be sure that it won't be the last one like it. He's already planning to build more.

Once more and more Americans realise what's being taken from them, the protests may take a more violent turn and that will be the end of the American experiment, as Benjamin Franklin termed the new United States. What will arise from the ashes may not look anything like the old. But maybe that's whats needed, another rebellion against the rich tyrants to take back the country.

I leave readers with that thought. After my commercial break, I read another chapter from The Priest by Michael Campi. I will add a link to the news stories and The Priest down below.
